Description

The course focuses on the application and evaluation of instrumental fixation on the diseases and injuries of the spine. Basic forms of the course - clinical cases discussions, the compare of the personal experiences of the faculties with the data of the evidence based medicine; workshops for the technical skills on the cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine instrumentation.

Spinal instrumentation: basic terms, history, principles of classification
Biomechanical zones and targets of spinal instrumentations
Suboccipital stabilization ( Oc-C1, C1-C2): peculiarities of decision making process
Cervical compressive myelo(radiculo)pathy: where is sufficient to use decompression only and where is instrumentation absolutely mandatory
Spinal Instrumentation in scoliosis patients
Instrumentation in post-traumatic spinal deformities
Lumbar disk degenerative diseases (DDD)
Objectives
To evaluate the possibility of applying instrumental fixation in various diseases and injuries of the different levels of the spine.
to determine the indications for the different techniques, introduce possible errors and complications in their application, as well as technical skills to the independent work.
